Start out by taste-testing some of the lesser known citrus fruits, like the blood orange, ugli fruit, and tangerine. Work in groups to prepare a lemon spread that you’ll use for sweet and tangy lemon meringue mini pies. Next, try your hand at assembling Asian chicken salad cups tossed in a citrus vinaigrette dressing. Make recipes with a range of citrus fruits, just as nature intended.
Eating fruits and veggies that are in season helps you eat healthier, more nutritious and flavorful food. Boosting heart health, increasing brain function, and strengthening the body’s immunity are among the amazing qualities of citrus fruits.
