Have you ever paid attention to how your body feels when you’re nervous, anxious, or even intense about something? That’s your nervous system speaking to you. Let’s start to manage how we prepare and respond to situations and experiences by doing some breathwork. It’s the intentional control of your breath… not all the time of course, but when you want or need to. The benefits are endless! Breathwork can help reduce stress and anxiety and literally mellow your nervous system. Slowing down to let your mind, emotions, and body fully process what's happening is both healthy and super positive. A Certified Breath Coach will teach you how to properly inhale and exhale. Practice 10 (that’s right, 10!) different types of breathing patterns too - one that focuses on calming the nervous system, one for clarity, and one to help you fall asleep to name a few. Students should wear comfortable, breathable clothing and socks. Sip on a warm and cozy chamomile-honey tea too!
All Mind/Body programs are sponsored in part by Providence Bank.
Thank you to Roots of Resilience for sponsoring "On Mission Month" programs in September.
Important Attendance Policy:
Out of respect to our volunteers, please be sure you can attend the programs you sign up for. Confirmation calls or text messages are made 48-72 hours prior to every program. If you do not respond to our confirmation call within 24 hours of the program, a student on the waiting list will fill your spot. If a student is a "no show" for 2 or more programs, they will be automatically placed on the waiting list for other programs they have signed up for during that semester. 48 hours notice is required for all cancellations.
