Empowering Teens Month Returns in October
Posted on Sep 30 2025 by Summer Lecas
We are excited to share that Empowering Teens Month is returning this October! This initiative celebrates the impact of afterschool programs, like those at The Bridge. These programs give teens the opportunity to explore their interests, learn new things, and connect with others. We are so grateful to walk alongside students and hear some of the experiences that have shaped their lives.
Mya, a 10th-grade student, began attending The Bridge two years ago. Since then, she has become a regular at Friday night events and loves attending our art programs. It has been incredibly inspiring to watch her grow—leading her own art program and even painting flower boxes to brighten our patio space. “Three words I would use to describe The Bridge are creative, fun, and impactful because of how much fun I have and how much it allows me to express my creativity,” shared Mya.
Connor, a 10th-grade student, spoke of the practical life skills he has learned through our programs—like changing a car battery and cooking. “I’ve been empowered to learn new things at The Bridge,” David says. “I’m learning stuff now instead of having to figure it out later in life. It’s better to learn it now so that I can get comfortable with it.”
We are extremely thankful to be able to provide a safe space for students to discover hope, purpose, and direction through our free holistic programs. It is so inspiring to see our students grow and become all that they were made to be. Different names were used for the safety of our students.
Thank you, Marquette Bank, for sponsoring The Bridge Bulletin this semester.
