Posted on Feb 24 2017 by The Bridge

Global Youth Service Day is the largest community service event in the world, and the only event dedicated to celebrating the contributions that young people make to their communities year-round. Several Chicago Southland area schools, churches, and organizations will join forces, on Saturday, April 22 from 9 am - 12 pm, to lead a collection drive for The Bridge Thrift Store.

Option 1:

Students lead a collection drive for The Bridge Thrift Store anytime during March 1st – April 21st.
Option 2:
On Saturday, April 22nd from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, students serve by sorting items brought by schools/groups that participated in the collection drive.
Groups may choose to participate in one or both of the options above. Advanced sign-up is required.

Students who lead a drive or serve on April 22nd will receive a FREE GYSD t-shirt for participating. T-shirts are offered on a first come/first serve basis.

To sign up individuals or your group (high school only), contact or 708.532.0500.

Now you can text us to confirm your spot in programs!

We have some exciting news. You’ve all probably received phone calls from us to confirm your attendance at our afterschool programs. We’ve left you a voicemail, you’ve left us a voicemail, we’ve played phone tag, etc.

We LOVE growth, however, with 350+ afterschool programs planned for 2017, making over 4,000 separate confirmation calls is challenging to say the least.

So in true Bridge fashion, we’re improving things.
