Do you ever feel a tug on your heart strings for people who are struggling? Maybe you’ve seen a friend or stranger being slightly disrespected or blatantly bullied (online or in person). Should you step in and help, or not? What should you say or do / not say and not do? What if there’s a possibility of getting into trouble? We totally understand that standing up to do the right thing can be overwhelming and often paralyzing. We’re here to help!

In this program, you’ll cultivate a better understanding of yourself and others through fun group games. Build confidence and gain practical tips on how to create a lifestyle of compassionate purpose and become an appropriate defender of those who are overlooked even when it’s difficult. Learn the real meaning of justice, empathy, and experience how impactful a welcoming, inclusive attitude can be!

This program takes place during Empowering Teens Month, which is held annually in November as a way to recognize the impact of afterschool programs for teens. It's also your chance to "pay it forward" and support The Bridge's free programs! For more information about how you can volunteer individually or as a group/family, click on the "donate" tab at thebridgeteencenter.org.

Important Attendance Policy:

Out of respect to our volunteers, please be sure you can attend the programs you sign up for. Confirmation calls or text messages are made 48-72 hours prior to every program. If you do not respond to our confirmation call within 24 hours of the program, a student on the waiting list will fill your spot. If a student is a "no show" for 2 or more programs, they will be automatically placed on the waiting list for other programs they have signed up for during that semester. 48 hours notice is required for all cancellations.
