Calling all nature lovers (and even those who aren’t)! This program is packed with essential skills for your next camping trip. Work on a team to set up a tent, find out what to pack, and practice the “Leave No Trace” principles. Whether you're preparing for your first fall camping adventure or just want to sharpen your outdoor skills, this is a great chance to meet other students and learn from the pros at REI. Plus, get ready for some friendly competition as teams race to see who can pitch their tents the fastest! #HappyCamping
*This is an offsite program. Students will travel in The Bridge Bus to REI, located at 15515 S. 95th Avenue in Orland Park. Must have "Permission to Transport" indicated on Student Membership Application.
Important Attendance Policy:
Out of respect to our volunteers, please be sure you can attend the programs you sign up for. Confirmation calls or text messages are made 48-72 hours prior to every program. If you do not respond to our confirmation call within 24 hours of the program, a student on the waiting list will fill your spot. If a student is a "no show" for 2 or more programs, they will be automatically placed on the waiting list for other programs they have signed up for during that semester. 48 hours notice is required for all cancellations.
