Fall is almost here, so get ready early with a classic and cozy chicken and dumpling soup. Making the dumplings is the best part - combine flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper until it’s one big piece of dough. Use a cookie scoop to form small round balls and set aside. Let’s get the “roux” started, which is a flour and butter mixture that is used to thicken sauces in soups or stews. Saute the veggies like celery, carrots, and onions, and don’t forget to brown chicken as well. Set both aside. Coat the cooked chicken in the roux, add broth and spices, and bring it all to a simmer.
