In time, you will want to make your own money and prepare for your first job. So, don’t miss this amazing opportunity to go behind the scenes at Macy’s, a large department store in Orland Mall! Sales associates have a variety of responsibilities, so it helps to familiarize yourself with these special tasks before you get the job. See the dock area and how the team processes shipments and strategically arranges them through displays on the sales floor. (It’s all about appealing to the customer!) Watch employees use a till (aka cash register) and prioritize tasks in a timely manner. Most importantly, get some tips on how to provide excellent customer service. Prepare for your future and sign up now!

Want to go even further in preparing for your first job? Apply for our Thriftastic Job Readiness Program sponsored in part by Macy’s. You learn a lot of the same concepts mentioned above at The Bridge Thrift Store. Open to Bridge students in 7th - 12th grade.

*For this program, students will travel in The Bridge Bus to an offsite location. They will be going to Macy’s, located at 1 Orland Square Drive in Orland Park. Must have "Permission to Transport" indicated on Student Membership Application.

*Online sign-up for this program (and all other April & May programs) will begin on Tuesday, March 12th @ 2pm. Set a reminder to come back and sign up on/after March 12th!

Important Attendance Policy:

Out of respect to our volunteers, please be sure you can attend the programs you sign up for. Confirmation calls or text messages are made 48-72 hours prior to every program. If you do not respond to our confirmation call within 24 hours of the program, a student on the waiting list will fill your spot. If a student is a "no show" for 2 or more programs, they will be automatically placed on the waiting list for other programs they have signed up for during that semester. 48 hours notice is required for all cancellations.
