Joy Lavens grew up in Oak Forest and is a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University.
While at Olivet, Joy was a RA for two years, worked in admissions as an ambassador, and was on student council. Prior to working at the Bridge, Joy worked in camping ministry and recruited, hired, trained and managed a staff of 80 and was in charge of (the summer programming) a summer program to over 4,000 kids a summer. She also helped plan other year round events.
As the Director or Programming and Student Care at The Bridge Teen Center, Joy is a part of our leadership team providing direction with program planning, annual signature events, and the ongoing care of our students. Joy has a heart for serving others. She likes making relationships with the students and parents of the Bridge.
Joy currently resides in Lockport with her husband Alex.
She enjoys eating guacamole, reading, exploring the outdoors, serving at her church, and running marathons.
