Flashing lights, loud sirens, the adrenaline rush as you speed down the street (similar to the TV show Chicago Fire), this is what some days look like for our firefighters and paramedics. They are the first to arrive at the scene of an emergency and most times it’s very dangerous.
Hear first-hand about the myths and truths in regards to required physical training, what day-to-day duties include, how tight the firefighter/paramedic family is, and how they work together. Most importantly, learn about the mental strength required for these courageous careers. Bonus: explore the inside of an emergency response vehicle these professionals use to save lives.
Important Attendance Policy:
Out of respect to our volunteers, please be sure you can attend the programs you sign up for. Confirmation calls or text messages are made 48-72 hours prior to every program. If you do not respond to our confirmation call within 24 hours of the program, a student on the waiting list will fill your spot. If a student is a "no show" for 2 or more programs, they will be automatically placed on the waiting list for other programs they have signed up for during that semester. 48 hours notice is required for all cancellations.
