How many times do you play your favorite song or playlist in a week? Sometimes, it feels as though we can’t live without our favorite music, but why is that? The connection between our emotions and music can be really powerful! Hear from a Northwestern Medicine exercise physiologist (she’s also a classically trained piano teacher) on why this connection is so strong. Explore the effect music has on our health and how different tempos and types of music might make us feel. You’ll have the opportunity to dig into different music genres and see how they can decrease depression symptoms and anxiety. Try some breathing exercises too. Out of respect to our volunteers, please be sure you can attend the programs you sign up for. Confirmation calls or text messages are made 48-72 hours prior to every program. If you do not respond to our confirmation call within 24 hours of the program, a student on the waiting list will fill your spot. If a student is a "no show" for 2 or more programs, they will be automatically placed on the waiting list for other programs they have signed up for during that semester. 48 hours notice is required for all cancellations.
