Feeling awkward? Learn the art of starting a conversation and keeping it engaging and interesting with someone you’ve just met. You want to convey that you are polite and interesting when you meet someone, especially if you are hoping to have a friendship or professional relationship with this person. Fortunately, there are certain topics and questions you can keep in mind to make these initial conversations more pleasant. Introduce yourself and engage in “small talk” with confidence, and navigate it into a more meaningful conversation over time. Effective communication is one of the most important life skills we can learn!
Important Attendance Policy:
Out of respect to our volunteers, please be sure you can attend the programs you sign up for. Confirmation calls are made 48-72 hours prior to every program. If you do not respond to our confirmation call within 24 hours of the program, a student on the waiting list will fill your spot. If a student is a "no show" for 2 or more programs, they will be automatically placed on the waiting list for other programs they have signed up for during that semester. 48 hours notice is required for all cancellations.
