Time to Spring Clean and donate to The Bridge Thrift Store

Posted on Feb 23 2021 by Aaron Heldt

Spring is the perfect time to purge your stuff, declutter your life and donate locally to The Bridge Thrift Store. All proceeds support the local mission of The Bridge Teen Center - a community teen center that provides free programs and events to teens in 7th - 12th grade. The Bridge Thrift Store accepts so much more than just clothing! Presently, the items we’re most in need of includes furniture, home goods, glassware, craft & repurpose items, and more.

Furniture

The next time you are upgrading your furniture, donate your old furniture to our store. We accept used and sellable couches, end tables, desks, book shelves, lamps, tables, chairs, chandeliers, and more.

Don’t have a big enough vehicle to donate your furniture? Schedule a free furniture pick-up! Send an email to [email protected] or call 708.614.6972. All pick-ups must be within a 10 mile radius from our store.

Home Goods

We get it, it’s fun to decorate! When you realize you have too many picture frames, vases and knick knacks, donate them to our store. These popular items are sold every day at our store and provide financial support for our free programs.

Glassware & Dishware

Did you recently get a new vase, appetizer tray, or dish set? Don’t let your old items go to waste. Donate to our store to give them a second chance for use in a new home.

Antiques & Collectables

Our store is always looking for neat items to stock in our Antique & Cool Junk section. Whether it’s classified as retro, vintage or a true antique, donate it today. Remember, your old junk could be someone else’s treasure!

Jewelry & Accessories

We accept all types of jewelry - including rings, bracelets, necklaces, broaches, and earrings. Even if it’s broken, we will accept it and repurpose it. Scarves, belts, hats, and handbags, and other sellable accessories are also accepted.

Craft & Repurpose Items

Are you the over confident crafter with more projects than time? We’ll take them and put them to good use! We’ll even accept miscellaneous items like mason jars, clean wine bottles & corks, fabric and more. These are great items for local crafters and DIYers!

Clothing & Shoes

Yes we accept gently used and sellable clothing and shoes for adults and children, but you already knew that. Clothing is our number one seller, but please make sure everything is in good, sellable condition!

We are thankful for the community's support of our store, and for helping us keep a revolving stock of great quality inventory. Please note that we are not able to accept older TVs, firearms, used bed sheets and pillow cases, mattresses, waterbeds, box springs, car seats, cribs and any other baby furniture.

How To Donate

Items can be donated Monday through Saturday during store hours behind the store (weather permitting) using the “touch-free” donation trailer. Follow posted signage instructions regarding donation procedures. All donations are tax deductible, and self-serve receipts are available when you drop-off.

The Bridge Thrift Store is located at 15605 S. 71st Count in Orland Park, Illinois and is the sister organization to The Bridge Teen Center.
